He was a little frustrated, today...he found out he didn't have until 5pm tomorrow night, he had until 5:00 this morning...(Saturday). He called and told them he was going to be late because of the weather; apparently the parts place he is delivering for has now run out of parts! I told him "they can't possibly all be on YOUR truck..." he said, "no, there are 6 other trucks with inventory for them, all running late because of the weather"....so, he's not the only one...he'll be sitting the rest of the weekend, now, and deliver on MONDAY morning....it's quite a bit warmer in Denver (35 supposedly), the problem is, from my experience driving through the mountains...it can change really fast when there's a big mountain range! He said where he's going he doesn't have to go too far in, so that's good...my friend, Sharon and I drove out to Utah for the weekend one October, 1993, I think it was....and we got caught up in a whiteout coming over Rock Springs (the first town in Wyoming, when you cross the border from Nebraska)....it was crazy. It was 60 degrees in Minnesota when we left!! We didn't believe all the truck drivers talking when we stopped for breakfast...it was all isolated in that small spot...for just a couple of miles; complete whiteout conditions....kinda freaky...we made it okay, but it is hard to predict. Hopefully all will go well. It seems when he starts thinking "home time" it starts to get all screwed up! Hopefully next week will be easy-breezy like it's been (pretty much) the whole time this last 2 weeks...he said this morning he stopped at the truck stop and just stood in the shower for 1/2 hour under the warm water, trying to wash out the tension! It gets pretty stressful...and Chuck's so laid back and easy-going as it is! (sarcasm) :) Looking forward to a warmup next week!!! woohoo! 30 above's going to feel like shorts weather!
Talk soon - Robin
